“ECAMPUZ – European World Talent Camp for Uzbekistan Scientists in Food Science and Technology – ERASMUS-EDU-2022-CBHE” organized the “Follow-up meetings with the CAMP 1 participants” from 26th February to 4th March, 2024 at the Andijan State University, Urgench State University, Bukhara Engineering Technological Institute and Center for Advanced Technologies (with the CAMP 1 participants from Tashkent Institute of Chemical Technology and National University of Uzbekistan named after Mirzo Ulugbek).
The purpose of the CAMP 1 follow-up meeting was to hold additional scientific seminars with CAMP 1 participants as well as with other UZB partners, including the food industry. This procedure was intended to ensure the progress and help to improve the next CAMPs based on the feedback from both the CAMP 1 committee and students.
The schedule of the “Follow-up meetings with the CAMP 1 participants”:
1. Andijan State University – 26th February 2024:
2. Urgench State University – 27th February 2024;
3. Bukhara engineering-technological institute – 29th February 2024;
4. Center for Advanced Technologies (with the CAMP 1 participants from Tashkent Institute of Chemical Technology and National University of Uzbekistan named after Mirzo Ulugbek) – 4th March 2024.
During the follow-up visit, EU trainers held additional scientific seminars with the CAMP 1 participants as well as with other UZB partners, including the food industry. EU trainers gave brief feedback about the participants of CAMP 1 and reports prepared by the CAMP 1 participants.
Apart from the feedback on CAMP 1 results, the representative of the University of Extremadura Professor Jorge Ruiz-Carrascal presented a brief intro to the upcoming CAMP 2 program on “Food Safety and Food Microbiology” which is planned to be organized in June 2024 at the University of Extremadura in Caceres, Spain.
The representatives of every Uzbek partner HEI provided additional information about the main subjects taught within Food Science and Technology and the main research within Food Science and Technology at their HEI.
One of the most remarkable parts of the meeting was the conversation between the representatives of project’s EU partners and the representatives of food industry (from various food companies) in Bukhara region about the current problems in food industry of UZB.

During the meetings were discussed topics about the current problems in food industry of UZB.
