Today, the First Silk Road Conference on Food Science & Foodomics officially opened at the Wyndham Hotel in Bukhara.
The conference is held within the framework of the ECAMPUZ – European World Talent Camp for Uzbekistan Scientists in Food Science and Technology (ERASMUS-EDU-2022-CBHE) project, co-funded by the European Union, and organized by Bukhara State Technical University.
A Platform Connecting Science and Industry
The conference brings together researchers, entrepreneurs, and policymakers from Uzbekistan and Europe to exchange knowledge and discuss innovative approaches in the food sector.
The opening day, Food Industry Day, focused on bridging academia and industry — fostering collaboration for innovation, sustainability, and food safety.
Participants emphasized the importance of modern analytical methods, the use of biotechnology in food protection, and the role of natural emulsions in improving product quality and nutrition.

Focus Areas
The conference covers key themes such as Food Safety, Food Processing, Foodomics, Green Food Transition, Food Regulations, and Consumer Science, aiming to strengthen Uzbekistan’s position in modern food research and innovation.
Over the next two days, the program will include keynote lectures, oral and flash presentations, and poster sessions by participants from partner universities across Europe and Uzbekistan.
