The ECAMPUZ project (ERASMUS-EDU-2022-CBHE), co-funded by the European Union, is pleased to announce the establishment of the Uzbek Society of Food Science and Technology (USFST) – a national professional community created to ensure the post-project sustainability of ECAMPUZ outcomes and to strengthen the development of the food sector in Uzbekistan.

The Society will be the main platform to gather industry, academia, and researchers for solving contemporary and future challenging problems of the food sector in Uzbekistan and to sustain tight collaboration with EU HEIs. The Society will operate under the Foodomics Laboratory at the Center for Advanced Technologies.

The graduates of the ECAMPUZ project will be the driving force of the Society. The Society will be a platform in which the seeds of innovation sown by ECAMPUZ can further grow into future well-founded research and industrial platforms in the food sector of Uzbekistan.

Why the USFST Matters?

The creation of the Uzbek Society of Food Science and Technology marks a key step in:

  • Building a strong, collaborative scientific community
  • Enhancing national capacity for advanced food research
  • Supporting sustainable and innovative food production
  • Strengthening EU-Uzbekistan partnerships in Food Science

USFST will serve as a long-term foundation for innovation, capacity building, and international collaboration, ensuring that the achievements of ECAMPUZ continue to grow and deliver impact across Uzbekistan’s food sector.

Membership in the Society is open to students, researchers, academics, and industry professionals interested in food science and technology. Registered members will receive information about events, collaborations, training opportunities, and research initiatives.

The Society welcomes: 

  • Students (Bachelor, Master, PhD)
  • Researchers and academic staff (teaching staff, lab assistants, heads of departments)
  • Industry professionals
  • ECAMPUZ CAMP and Train-the-Trainer participants
  • Other professionals involved in Food Science, Food Testing, Food Processing and Industry
