“ECAMPUZ – European World Talent Camp for Uzbekistan Scientists in Food Science and Technology” International project of ERASMUS + Capacity Building of Higher Education program, co-funded by the European Union.

The purpose of CAMP 3 training on Food Analytics and Data Science was to allow the selected participants to gain a strong foundation in food science during a two-week immersive program (Urgench, Uzbekistan), exploring topics related to food chemistry, chemometrics, chromatography, and spectroscopy. In practical lessons, the project team tried to include laboratory activities, where CAMP 3 participants would test samples of food products on their own under the supervision of EU trainers.

CAMP 3 training was organized in small groups. 8 groups were formed during the training and the challenges are developed in teams of 3 or 4 students. Challenge groups worked either on flour or milk samples analysis.

Milk groups: 2, 5, 6, 8

Flour groups: 1, 3, 4, 7

For CAMP 3 training there were analyzed over 20 milk and flour samples.
Milk was analyzed for the fat content using NIR spectroscopy, and flour samples were put into FT-IR spectroscopy to determine the protein content.

Every team was required to submit the final report on the challenge work by June 1, 2025.
